Who is Aphrodite?

Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, beauty, and desire, was born fully formed, emerging from the sea-foam off the coast of Cythera. Well, to be more precise, she was born of the "foam" created when Uranus's castrated genitals were tossed into the sea...but that doesn't project the air of beauty that Aphrodite is known for. Later depictions in Homer's Illiad reimagines her as the daughter of Zeus and Dione.

Aphrodite governs not only romantic love, lust, and sensuality, but also the appreciation of art, adornment, and the pleasures of life. Often depicted with roses, doves, or a seashell, she represents the magnetic pull of attraction and the transformative power of love. While often seen as lighthearted and playful, Aphrodite's domain is far from superficial—she reminds us that beauty sacred and that love, in all its forms, holds the power to heal, create, transform—and even destroy.

One of the most iconic myths of Aphrodite centers around the Judgment of Paris, an event that set the Trojan War in motion. When Eris, the goddess of discord, tossed a golden apple inscribed with “to the fairest” among the goddesses, Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite each claimed it. The goddesses promptly began to argue who it was for. Zeus, "wisely" avoiding the drama, appointed Paris, prince of Troy, to choose the most beautiful goddess.

Each goddess offered him a gift—Hera promised power, Athena wisdom and victory, but Aphrodite offered him the love of the most beautiful mortal woman: Helen of Sparta. Desiring Helen's hand, Paris awarded the apple to Aphrodite, and true to her word, she helped him steal Helen away, sparking a decade-long war. This myth reflects the power and consequences of love, and reminds us of Aphrodite’s unparalleled power to sway hearts and shift the fates of gods and mortals alike.

Awesome product! With a lot of rose scented things I feel like they smell grandma like, but this doesn’t at all. You can smell each note as described and it really freshens the candle up. I love it!

The best sex candle you will ever have

This has to be one of my favorite candles of all time. I like to save it for special occasions, so I only light it in my room when I am having sex. My fiance and our sexual partners all love it! We get so many compliments. I just thought it was natural to light an Aphrodite candle during sex, but it does work. The trade always compliments the scent.

Just don't forget to trim the wick after (I get lazy and just shut the lid because I am tired for obvious reasons...)

The final review, 4 of 4 for the husband sampler. I chose this because he generally likes vanilla and apple scents in candles but anything rose can be hit or miss with him. He, surprisingly to me, really likes this one! The rose scent is definitely the strongest, so if you're not a fan you may not like it, but it pairs absolutely wonderfully with the apple. I really enjoy this one!

I’m in Love

I’m obsessed with apple fragrances when they are done right — and this is done RIGHT! Sometimes apple can be too synthetic or candy-esque but Josh really did the dang thing with this one. The apple is so fresh and reminds me of apple picking in my childhood. The vanilla adds a necessary sweetness that doesn’t overpower and the rose is also just the perfect floral balance. Sometimes other rose candles can smell “dated” but this has changed my previous opinions against rose. Highly recommend. I can’t stop burning this one!

I have to say, Aphrodite surprised me AND made my husband a bit teary. The scent reminded him so strongly of his great grandmother’s perfume. It is just lovely with just enough Apple to even everything out perfectly.
