Our Story
Founded in 2015, as Aphrodite’s Apothecary as a small line of handmade jewelry and body lotions soon evolved into something far greater. After a decade of growth, Aphrodite decided it was time to pass the torch and in 2026, Aphrodite’s Apothecary officialy became Aromatheá.
Today, our collection has expanded to include luxury candles inspired by the Gods, custom astrology jewelry, as well as beauty and ritual items infused with intention. Every creation is handcrafted to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary by blending myth, magic, and good design to bring you products you'll not only love but you'll proudly display on your shelf when company comes over.

Meet the Maker
Joshua Spellman, founder and creator, brings a unique blend of artistry and intellect to everything he makes. A professional librarian and artist with formal archaeological training, Joshua has built his career around the belief that beauty and knowledge are two sides of the same coin. His work bridges the worlds of art and science, transforming ancient inspiration into modern magic.
From developing each fragrance blend to engraving jewelry designs himself, Joshua ensures every piece is crafted with care. His goal is simple: to make the mystical accessible by helping others find beauty and magic in the everyday.
He lives in New York with his familiars Laurel, his cat, and Claire, his tiny dog. Joshua Spellman also hosts the haunted history podcast Citegeist.
